PLEASURE GARDENS MATERIAL

LANDSCAPES, TEMPORARY SCANS

This gathering of research material was intended to supplement my participation as a member of the Trustees of the Museum of Garden History ,brief though it was. After a short and concealed power battle a new curator was appointed and decision making was switched to a new committee, leaving the old one marooned in a limbo. As far as I know I am still a member of the original advisory group but have had no contact with developments thereafter . It is now called Garden Museum and can be found in Lambeth Palace Road. I was much amusedd by a Hermit who lived in the Church Tower and made free with emails to Members (many years ago mind you). There was an excellent lunching facility much enjoyed by local workers.

No longer.

O what tales are in my diary! I was not made to sit easily in a power structure. Still, I grew to love the area and the walk along the Riverfront from Vauxhall was a treasured memory. There I met Kirsty Carter for tea and a gossip. The best memory.

The Museum Volunteers were dedicated and highly knowlegeable, draawing from a pool of distinguished local residents.
