the whole MAGAZINE

This issue is heavy, encrusted with images, statistics and very good writing. It coincides with, and reflects the 1939 New York World Fair. I took my copy to Ricky Harrison who drew my attention to his complaint written into the published map that a bridge under construction, acted as an obstruction, a rare note of puckishness in the cartographer's production. Robert Riggs was given a remarkable field for his more satirical illustrations here. Most of the other images are self-explicatory.
