Some things are best seen and not understood. I will add to the collection in screens when I can. The captions have been ruthlessly cropped- for the most part. Working under pressure in an academic institution, I found many of these images useful as wordless comments on what was happening to me.

4. are like nothing else you've ever seen

5. are mostly magnificent

6. and are happy to be adopted by YOU.

Indeed the captions sometimes remove the fizz from the mixture. On my kitchen wall I have a map with no lettering. I had to forcible restrain a guest who reckoned he had recognised the locale.

Of course the images are almost without exception of the United States, saved in admiration for the visual fizz of the place.
