Ernst Liebermann Kindersang-heimatland - Deutsche Kinderlied published by Scholz in Munich in the series German Picture Books

These are plates from Volume 2, and each page measures 21 x29cms.

The imagery is turn of the (19/20) century Biedemeier, with a strong nationalistic atmosphere of Motherland and the Wanderer (indeed very much in the Wandervogel tradition - of the carefree singing young pilgrim striding down empty country roads).

The illustrations are very competently done in tertiary colours, using the oblong landscape format to its best advantage.

The presentation of the musical material, often a blight to the page concept is well handlesd - neat integration between image, text and stave.
