AIMS -

• TO PROVIDE A DATABASE FOR ALL VIEWERS OF IMAGES DEPICTING THE HUMAN BODY ;
• TO SELECT RARE AND UNUSUAL IMAGES THAT SOUGHT TO INFORM AND EDUCATE ;
• TO EMPHASISE THE MARVELLOUS AND BIZARRE

  BUT NEVER TO FIB or make it up.

   

  THE interactive database is dedicated to the following propositions

  1. That makers of images contribute to - even intensify - our ways of seeing the world;

  2. That there are many and varied ways of seeing that world;

  3. That art always collaborated with science,

  and particularly in depicting the human body

  4. That the human body is a marvellous thing to behold and to depict;

  5. That reflections upon the human body can ennoble, excite and emotionally galvanise

  6. That the Human Body is also capable of generating much mirth

  7. THAT the MEN and WOMEN who

  TEND

  ADJUST

  MODEL

  AND

  IMPROVE

  WEIGH, MEASURE AND OTHERWISE DELINEATE

  the Human Body

  can generate much the same hilarity.

   

  We are reconciled to the fact that where we find amusement, exhilaration

  and sheer delight, others may find only INTIMATIONS of their own

  future

  demise
