I bought this book of postcards and have loved it for over two decades. The images are dour, depressing and with distinctly ominous overtones. They do not promote the region, its people or cultural monuments. Thjere is not a single human being shown in these landscapes. The ILES are promoted solely for their rocky protrubrances several of which, it is claimed, look like something else -

Again, the act of scanning these images which measure 9 x 15 cms has opened them up as sources of crusted textures and resemblances to vegetables and sad, sad faces.
