David Wilson (1873 - 1935) moved to London from his native Ireland before 1900. He worked for PUNCH and The Graphic. The Irish Comics section of WIKI contains a delightful colour self portrait as part of an advertisement for a shaving soap. The entry concludes with the melancholy suicide of his son Jimmy and his own decline into illness and depression.

He supported the Liberal Party and Lloyd George after early years as a Socilaist. Some of this fondness can be seen in the way he drew the Welsh Wizard. His interest in Dreams and Revelation endow his concepts with great originality and defiance of the cliché.
