KAUFFER’S GREAT WESTERN TO DEVONS MOORS POSTER

I like it because it’s not a picture of a landscape. It’s a design. A symbol of Devon. It sums up Devon and the Moors with the roads that wind over it. It’s the very epitome, very beautiful and so simple. Look at the way the roads are going over three hills in the distance, I liked the way he used the type over  the top of it.

Wonderful – I prefer it to the other Great Western poster to Cornwall. A landscape with a bay. Maybe it’s the colour that’s wrong. That yellow. It’s not got the simplicity of the other.
